My quest to develop something novel and unique has led me to create contemporary abstract compositions. Alphabets, letters and words from essential elements of my design and the form and movement of the alphabets supplements my composition. I plan my design meticulously and then transfer these to paper with masking fluid. However, my selection and grading of colour, whether applied by palette knife, brush or fingers, depends entirely on my mood and my fixation on the subject. I have a broad palette, and I use the interaction of colours with the traditional elements, shapes and forms of the alphabet to convey the title of the painting in a manner that is more receptive to the viewer who may lack an understanding of the foreign script. My work aims to present a visual stimulus through colours and forms and entice the viewer to further explore the language and its history.
