Brooke is currently working as a Wurundjeri educator, visiting schools and talking about local Aboriginal history and culture. She weaves to honour her great grandmother and all of the women who have gone before her… When she weaves, she feels she is keeping her culture alive, it lives through her. She doesn’t always share what she creates. Weaving can be private, and her own escape from this fast-paced world we live in. She wants to celebrate her female ancestors who have contributed to successful and sustainable agriculture that flourished for generations. Wurundjeri country provides resources to satisfy and sustain all aspects of life. She hopes her work highlights the deep connection Aboriginal people have to the country and challenges the many stereotypes placed upon us.
